Integrative Approach to Periodontitis Using Endolymphatic Antibacterial Treatment

Abstract

The prevalence and frequency of this pathology, unsatisfactory immediate and remote results of treatment encourage the search for new, alternative methods of treatment of patients with this pathology. According to various data, patients with periodontitis constitute 20-65% among patients with general dental pathology and 80-95% in the structure of gum diseases. Patients with periodontitis undergo long-term treatment and are out of active work for a long time. As a result of the long-term chronic course of the inflammatory process in the periodontal area, phenomena develop psycho-emotional discomfort In recent publications devoted to periodontitis, the role of anaerobic microflora in the development of the disease is noted. In recent years, endolymphatic administration of drugs, especially antibiotics, has been widely used in the treatment of various diseases, confirmed by a significant improvement in clinical results. The effectiveness of endolymphatic drug therapy as a method for improving lymph rheology and metabolism in the interstitium has been proven. Such therapy promotes a selective and longer-lasting effect of drugs on microorganisms and the pathological focus, reducing the toxic effect of the drug on other organs and tissues. At the same time, insufficient attention is paid to the use of the endolymphatic method of drug administration in patients with periodontitis.
